Abstract
The articles in this special issue address empirically potential developmen tal origins of cognitive vulnerability to depression. The findings from the se studies converge on the theme that the nature of the interpersonal conte xt within which individuals develop is central to the emergence of cognitiv e vulnerability versus invulnerability to depression.
