Abstract
The open-air site of Holon (Israel), dated to an age of 200 000 years has y ielded a large Acheulean bone and lithic assemblage. The association betwee n the lithics and fauna clearly demonstrates that Hominids were the prime a gents in creating the assemblage. The site of Holon plays a major role in u nderstanding the Lower Palaeolithic of the Levantine coastal area. (C) 2001 Academie des sciences / Editions scientifiques et medicales Elsevier SAS.
