FLUOR stands for Fibered Linked Unit for Optical Recombination and is an in
terferometric instrument which started out as a technology demonstrator, de
monstrated the potential of single-mode fiber optics fur high precision vis
ibility measurements, and has been operated as a focal instrument of the IO
TA interferometer since 1995. After a presentation of the instrument, the p
rograms carried out with FLUOR are reviewed, as well as the perspectives in
troduced by interferometric observations with a high dynamic range. (C) 200
