Abstract
We have investigated in this study and for the first time the ability of el ectropolymerized cobalt porphyrin film on vitreous carbon electrode to cata lyze the electrooxidation of 2-mercaptoethanol, by lowering its oxidation p otential by ca. 0.7 V. These results extend the use of such electrocatalyti cally active film to the field of the activation of thiols and offer a new interesting alternative to do so.
