Synthesis and anti-inflammatory activity of l-acetyl-5-substitute daryl-3-(beta-aminonapthyl)-2-pyrazolines and beta-(substituted aminoethyl) amidonaphthalenes
E. Bansal et al., Synthesis and anti-inflammatory activity of l-acetyl-5-substitute daryl-3-(beta-aminonapthyl)-2-pyrazolines and beta-(substituted aminoethyl) amidonaphthalenes, EUR J MED C, 36(1), 2001, pp. 81-92
The title compounds were prepared by reaction of P-acetylamino-naphthalene
with different aromatic aldehydes followed by cyclisation with hydrazine hy
drate and with different primary or secondary amines (Mannich's reaction),
respectively. The structures of new compounds were confirmed by H-1-NMR and
IR spectral data. Anti-inflammatory and ulcerogenic activities in vivo wer
e evaluated and compared with the standard drugs, phenylbutazone and indome
thacin. Some compounds of the series exhibited promising anti-inflammatory
activity with a lower ulcerogenic liability than the standard drugs. (C) 20
