Abstract
A novel method is proposed that simultaneously eliminates chirp and compres ses pulses from gain-switched distributed-feedback Bragg (G-S DFB) semicond uctor laser employing chirped fiber Bragg grating (FBG) with narrow bandwid th. It is demonstrated that with this method, only the central frequency of the FBG is slightly shifted from the central frequency of the G-S DFB lase r; the nearly transform-limited narrow pulse with symmetrical waveform can be obtained.
