Abstract
The theory of a class of rational Chebychev functions is presented, forming the basis of optimum approximation functions that determine the response o f lumped element quadrature hybrids of suitable design. Analytical solution s are presented, allowing the designer to determine the order of function r equired to meet a given divider specification and to predict the performanc e: over frequency.
