Abstract
A proposal is made of a general coupling function required for achieving sy nchronisation between a given master (drive)- slave (response) time-delay s ystem. The approach is applied to the case of synchronisation between two l aser diodes subject to optical feedback and derive the appropriate synchron isation condition.
