Abstract
The effect of light on the excitation efficiency and resonant frequenc y for the fundamental mode of contour elastic oscillations of a circul ar ferrite-garnet slab is investigated. A reduction in the dimensionle ss parameter for the dynamic magnetoelastic coupling is observed. It i s shown that illumination produces changes in the effective magnetostr iction field and in the magnetic anisotropy. (C) 1997 American Institu te of Physics.
