Abstract
A spectrophotometric procedure for the determination of yttrium(III) using Arsenazo-I is described (lambda (max)=570 nm). The calibration curve is lin ear in the concentration range of 0-4x10(-6) M (0-356 ngml(-1)). The lowest amount of yttrium(III) that can be determined is 22 ngml(-1). The procedur e has been applied for;he determination of yttrium(III) in the superconduct or, YBa2Cu3Oy (y = 6.5-6.9), with good results.
