Abstract
2-Substituted-1,8-naphthyridine-3-carboxylic acid hydrazides 1 undergo a no vel solid state transformation with iodobenzene diacetate at room temperatu re to furnish the corresponding N, N'-di(2-substituted-1,8-naphthyridine-3- carbonyl)hydrazines 2. The products are obtained in good yields and excelle nt purities.
