Abstract
Changes in the structural and thermal properties of some polymer foils , because of UV radiation exposure, are detectabale by IR and photoaco ustic spectroscopy and by thermal diffusivity measurements. New IR abs orption bands appear in the PET (polyethyleneterephthalate) and LDPE ( low density polyethylene) spectra. The thermal diffusivity coefficient decreases by one order of magnitude after 5 hours of UV irradiation. (C) 1997 Elsevier Science B.V.
