Abstract
It is found experimentally that the introduction of 1% Fe in the CuGeO3 mat rix gives rise to a strong disorder in the magnetic subsystem and leads to an appearance of the chi similar to 1/T-alpha(alpha approximate to 0.36) lo w-temperature asymptotic form for magnetic susceptibility over a wide tempe rature range 1.7 less than or equal to T less than or equal to 30 K. A mode l attributing this anomaly to the suppression of spin-Peierls state as a re sult of the formation of the quantum critical point is proposed. (C) 2001 M AIK "Nauka/Interperiodica".
