Abstract
A specific and sensitive high-performance liquid chromatographic method was developed for the assay of 2-phenyl-4-quinolone (YT-1) in rabbit serum. Th e proposed method is simple, rapid (deproteinization time, within 5 min. an alysis time, ca. 20 min), sensitive [detection limit, ca. 0.05 mug/mL serum (at a signal to noise ratio of 3:1)], highly selective, and reproducible [ relative standard deviation, ca. 1.3% (n = 3)]. The calibration graph for Y T-1 was linear (r = 0.998) in the range of 0.1-100.0 mug/mL. The recovery o f YT-1 was greater than 96% by the standard addition method. This validated method is available for application to pharmacokinetic studies of YT-1.
