Abstract
A series of cycloplatinated carbosilane dendrimers appended with the monoan ionic C,N-bidentate ligand [C6H4{CH2NMe2}2](-) (CN) was prepared via a mult iple C-H activation reaction. Ligand exchange in the parent model species [ PtCl(C6H3{CH2NMe2}-2-SiMe3-5)(DMSO)] (1) in the presence of PPh3 gave the p hosphine complex [PtCl(C6H3{CH2NMe2}-2-SiMe3-5)(PPh3)] (2). The crystal str ucture of 2 was also determined, showing a close proximity between one of t he Ar-H of the phosphine ligand and the Ar-H-ortho, of the CN ligand. (C) 2 001 Elsevier Science B.V.
