Ak. Singh et S. Christopher, CAD of a compact monopulse comparator network using planar magic tee junctions for airborne slotted array antennas, MICROWAVE J, 44(3), 2001, pp. 110
The operating principle and design of compact, non-standard, reduces height
waveguide planar magic tee junctions are described. The distinguishing fea
ture of these components is the placement of the difference port on layer s
eparated from other three ports by a common waveguide broadwall. the two pa
rts of the component are coupled through a slot located in the common broad
wall of two. A design methodology making use of extensive electromagnetic m
odelling based on methods of moment (MoM) analysis and finite element metho
d (FEM)-based commercial software has been developed. The use of such plana
r magic tee junctions in developing planar monopulse comparators for airbor
ne slotted array application has been demonstrated.
