The results of magnetic susceptibility and high held magnetization measurem
ents on a single crystal sample of copper zigzag chain compound (N2H5)CuCl3
are reported. Magnetic susceptibility of this compound shows a round maxim
um around 10K and decreases gradually. High-field magnetization up to 300kO
e of this compound shows a monotonic increase with a concave curvature. We
compared the experimental results with those of calculation by the temperat
ure-dependent density-matrix-renormalization-group method and obtained fair
ly good agreement between them when the ratio of the next-nearest-neighbor
exchange constant to the nearest neighbor one is 0.2 similar to 0.3. (C) 20
