Fabrication of pulsed magnets with a linear-type coil-winding machine

We developed a linear-type coil-winding machine for the fabrication of puls ed magnets. This machine is compact and makes the process of winding a wire easier. The wire is led to a coil shaft through a pair of timing-belts. Ka pton tape and Zylon fiber are wrapped on the wire by interlocking with the drive part of the timing-belts. A test magnet fabricated with the linear-ty pe coil-winding machine generates magnetic fields above 63 T. (C) 2001 Else vier Science B.V. All rights reserved.
