The formation of essentially nonlinear, time-dependent structures in the co
mpressible advection problem is examined. Based on the Lagrangian descripti
on, the influence of initial conditions on the emergence of new nonlinear s
tructures is studied. Conditions leading to the formation of new regular, a
s well as singular, collapse-type structures and wavelet structures in the
