Abstract
Reactions of 3,6-dipentyloxy- and 3,6-didecyloxyphthalonitriles with lithiu m pentoxide in pentan-1-ol were studied. 3,6-Didecyloxyphthalonitrile can b e used for the preparation of both the corresponding octasubstituted phthal ocyanines and phthalocyanines of the ABAB type.
