Abstract
The helical diol 2,15-dihydroxy-hexahelicene (HELIXOL) is an excellent fluo rescence sensor for chiral amines and amino alcohols. The fluorescence of H ELIXOL can be efficiently as well as enantioselectively quenched by the ena ntiomers of several chiral amines and amino alcohols. Its high fluorescence intensity and its ability to enantiodiscriminate effectively makes it pote ntially useful for high-throughput screening of ee. (C) 2001 Elsevier Scien ce Ltd.
