Abstract
A 54-year-old male underwent orthotopic heart transplantation for valv ular heart and developed a false aneurysm of the ascending aorta at th e aortic suture line posteriorly 20 months after transplantation. This was successfully repaired using a patch of glutaraldehyde-fixed bovin e pericardium. At the time of surgical repair there was no evidence of infection or atherosclerosis.
