Abstract
The coupled term in generalized thermoelasticity formulations is modified w ith non-small temperature change, where the absolute temperature is not rep laced by the temperature of the body in its undeformed state, and is expres sed as a linear function related to time. The term including ((d/ds)(u) ove r bar (i,i)) in Laplace transform domain is treated with an approximate met hod. The applicability of the assumptions to a lot of engineering problems such as finite body subjected to sudden heating shock is explained. The new fundamental solutions and boundary integral equations of the generalized t hermoelasticity with non-small temperature changes are derived. (C) 2001 El sevier Science Inc. All rights reserved.
