The perovskite-type self-doped La1-xMnO3+delta was prepared; by heat treatm
ent of the gel precursor deposited on a Pt electrode in solutions containin
g both La3+ and Mn2+ ions using catholic reduction electrochemical method.
The influence of molar ratio of La3+ and Mn2+ in solution,:deposition poten
tial and current density on product composition was investigated.. Our resu
lts indicate that varying the ratio of La3+ and Mn2+ in solution, depositio
n potential or current density can conveniently control the product composi
tion, lattice deficiencies and hence the self-doping level, In addition, th
e transport properties are mainly influenced by Mn4+ content and ion vacanc
ies for the self-doped manganites.
