A series of complexes [M(CO)(5)(Hdpf-kappaP)], where M = Cr (1), Mo (2) and
W (3), and Hdpf is 1'-(diphenylphosphanyl)ferrocenecarboxylic acid, was ob
tained by thermally-induced (2) or photochemically-assisted (1, 3) displace
ment of carbon monoxide with Hdpf from the corresponding hexacarbonyl compl
exes. The complexes were characterized by NMR, UV-VIS and IR spectroscopies
and further studied by cyclic voltammetry. The solid-state structure of co
mplex 1 has been determined by single-crystal X-ray diffraction.
