Abstract
We report quantum molecular dynamics simulations of dense molecular fluids under extreme pressure and temperature. We discuss two applications in the range of recent gas-gun and laser shock compression experiments: the equati on-of-state and shock Hugoniots of deuterium and nitrogen; and, the optical reflectivity of fluid deuterium.
