Abstract
Corynebacterial isolates, obtained by selective and non-selective media fro
m conjunctival swabs, were speciated by using two recently developed system
s, All 25 strains from 92 individuals, as well as 12 strains from a previou
s similar study, belonged to lipophilic species. The significance of this u
nusual finding is discussed.
