Abstract
A vacuum UV spectroscopic measurement system has been constructed on t he REPUTE-1 device, and electron temperature measurements using the li ne intensity ratio method have been successfully carried out for ultra low q plasmas. The electron temperatures measured are consistent with the results obtained by Thomson scattering measurement. It is observed that the electron temperature decreases in the phases of magnetohydro dynamic relaxation. (C) 1997 Elsevier Science B.V.
