Abstract
Computer trajectory calculations indicate that sample volumes in the C HS heavy ion beam probe experiment are very large. In the worst case, the longest dimension is of order 10 cm. The sample volumes in a simil ar experiment on ATF had substantially smaller volumes. Possible cause s and expected effects of the large CHS sample volumes are discussed.
