Abstract
In stellarators, average equilibrium beta can be derived from measurem ents of the magnetic flux produced by the Pfirsch-Schluter current. Th is method has been compared with the conventional diamagnetic method. The important advantages of using this method are much higher relative signal ratio and easier installation of the diagnostic in any stellar ator devices. (C) 1997 Elsevier Science S.A.
