Abstract
Over 25 years ago, American Electric Power (AEP) purchased for the John E. Amos Plant Unit 3, the first of six new 1300 MW units. With a highly coordi nated effort utilizing AEPs operating experience and the manufacturer's des ign and manufacturing capability, extraordinarily reliable generators were produced which have run for all these years with very little trouble.
