Abstract
Ultrasonic, volumetric and viscometric studies on 2-hydroxy-5-methylacetoph enone and 2,4-dihydroxy acetophenone have been carried out in THF-water, DM F-water and dioxane-water cosolvents at 303.15 K. Various thermodynamic par ameters such as apparent molal volume, apparent molal compressibility and t heir limiting values have been determined. The results are discussed in ter ms of solute-solvent interactions. The study indicates maximum interactions in dioxane-water co-solvent.
