A new ligand N-benzoyl-N'-2-furanthiocarbohydrazide (H(2)Bfth) formed 1:1 d
eprotonated complexes with Co(II), Ni(II), Cu(II) and Zn(II) while 1:2 depr
otonated complexes with Mn(II), Fe(II) and Cd(II). The complexes have been
characterized by elemental analyses, magnetic susceptibility measurements,
and UV-vis, IR, ESR. NMR (H-1 and C-13), mass/FAB mass and Mossbauer spectr
al studies. The biological activity have been screened against several bact
eria and fungi.
