Abstract
D-Glucose, sucrose and triphenylmethylcarbinol dithiocarbonate complexes of molybdenum(V), [Mo2OS3(glu-2CS(2))]. 2H(2)O, [Mo2S4(suc-4CS(2))]. 2H(2)O, and [Mo2OS3(Ph3COCS2)(2)]. 2H(2)O, respectively have been synthesized. The compositions are strongly influenced by the nature of xanthates and the exp erimental conditions of preparation. The TG-DTA data suggest the presence o f lattice water. On the basis of magnetic moment and spectroscopic data, ox o or sulphido bridged structures are suggested for the molybdenum compounds .
