Abstract
2-Aroylamino-5-[1-(p-chlorophenyl)-5-methyl-1,2,3-triazol-4-yl]-1,3,4-thiad iazoles 3a-e and 3-[1-(p-chlorophenyl)-5-methyl-1,2,3-triazol-4-yl]-1,2,4-t riazole-5(4H)-thione 4 have been synthesized by the cyclization of 4-aroyl- 1-[1-(p-chlorophenyl)-5-methyl-1,2,3-triazole-4-carbonyl]thiosemicarbazides 2a-e with cone. H2SO4 and 2N NaOH solution, respectively. Moreover, 2-aryl -5-[1-(p-chlorophenyl)-5-methyl-1,2,3-triazol-4-yl]-1,3,4-oxadiazoles 7a-e have been obtained by the direct condensation of 1-(p-chlorophenyl)-5-methy l-1,2,3-triazole-4-carbohydrazide with aromatic acids in the presence of PO Cl3. All the compounds synthesized have been characterized by their element al analyses and spectral data.
