Abstract
Studies carried out on the heavy ion central region of VEC ale described. A semi-analytical approach has been used to optimize the transmission of the beam in the hole lens. Conditions necessary for waist-to-waist transfer of the beam in the hole have been obtained. The orbits of a variety of heavy ions have been studied by optimizing various central region parameters to g et centered beam.
