A. Scrivanti et al., (2-Furyl)phenyl(2-pyridyl)phosphine as a new ligand in the alkoxycarbonylation of terminal alkynes, J MOL CAT A, 168(1-2), 2001, pp. 75-80
(2-Furyl)phenyl(2-pyridyl)phosphine has been synthesised by reaction of 2-f
uryllithium with chlorophenyl(2-pyridyl)phosphine. The new ligand in combin
ation with Pd(OAc)(2) and methanesulphonic acid provides a catalytic system
highly active in the alkoxycarbonylation of terminal alkynes. The catalyti
c activity of the system depends on both the metal to ligand and metal to a
cid ratios. The new ligand seems to be more efficient than the widely used
(2-pyridyl)diphenylphosphine. (C) 2001 Elsevier Science B.V. All rights res
