Abstract
This paper describes several examples of how nanostructures of various comp ounds can be used in optoelectronics. The accent is placed on the problem o f the glassy state of matter. The possibilities of the quantum-beat effect are considered in connection with the problem of creating fast-response dev ices in a wide operating range. (C) 2001 The Optical Society of America.
