Abstract
This paper describes the results of calculations of the correlation coeffic ients of the spectral radiances of clouds and the earth's surface with the parameters that characterize the conditions for measuring the radiance spec tra from an airplane. The initial experimental data were obtained with a re solution of about 0.07 mum in the spectral region from 2 to 5.5 mum. Graphs are shown of the spectral correlations with the flight height, pressure, t emperature, and the geometrical parameters that characterize the orientatio n of the line of sight in space and the illumination of the underlying surf ace by the sun. A short interpretation is given of the main regularities of the spectral behavior of the resulting dependences. (C) 2001 The Optical S ociety of America.
