The electric and photoelectric properties of the electrolyte-semiconductor
interface in the chains formed by metal auxiliary electrode-electrolyte-mul
tinary layered semiconductors have been investigated. The dependencies of f
latband potential phi (fb) and contact potential phi (c) at the electrolyte
-semiconductor interface on the concentration of S2-/S-2(2-) ions and the v
alue of pH of the electrolyte were studied. The values of the photopotentia
l up to 0.6 V and the shea circuit current up to 1 mA/cm(2) have been obtai
ned. It was shown that the photoelectrode corrosion is practically absent.
An energetic diagram for the investigated system is proposed. (C) 2001 Else
