Abstract
The dynamic response of a non-uniform continuous Euler-Bernoulli beam is an alyzed with Hamilton's principle and the eigenpairs are obtained by the Rit z method. A high-precision integration method is used to calculate the dyna mic responses of this beam. Numerical results show that the method is more accurate in the prediction of the vibration responses under the moving load s than the Newmark method. (C) 2001 Academic Press.
