Abstract
The reaction of two mole equivalents of (Me2N)(3)P with Ph2Se2I2 produces t he ionic compound [(Me2N)(3)PSePh]I which contains a long Se-I contact, 3.8 25(1) Angstrom, and a bent P-Se-I angle, 114.5(2)degrees.
