Abstract
The surface free energies along with the adsorption of some organic compoun ds like formamide, acetonitrile, dimethyl formamide, acetone, 1,2-dichloroe thane, 1,1-dichloroethane and normal chain alcohols (n = 1-5), assuming as hard sphere fluids, at a planar wall have been calculated using a density f unctional theory (DFT): The behavior of liquids at solid-liquid interface h as bees discussed. The results differ from that of scale particle theory du e to inhomogenity of the fluid near the surface.
