M. Perez-pereira et G. Conti-ramsden, The use of directives in verbal interactions between blind children and their mothers, J VIS IMP B, 95(3), 2001, pp. 133-149
Verbal interactions between three mothers and their young blind children, w
ith special attention to the use of maternal directives, were examined. It
was found that a simple analysis of maternal directives can be misleading.
Thus, counting single occurrences of directives ignores the possible adapti
ve role that directive sequences may have in conversational interactions wi
th blind children.
