An analytical solution to the equation governing the slowly varying envelop

influence of phase-matching, group-delay, and attenuation effects is studie
d. Optimal conditions for third-harmonic generation in leaky waveguide mode
s of hollow fibers filled with various rare gases are determined for differ
ent pulse durations of fundamental radiation.
