Variational Monte-Carlo calculations have been performed for the Light s-sh
ell hypernuclei, namely He-5(Lambda), H-4(Lambda), and H-4(Lambda)*. The ma
in aim of the study has been to know more about the Lambda -nuclear interac
tion. Our study shows that the three-body Lambda NN force has a larger shar
e in the splitting energy of H-4(Lambda)(0(+) - 1(+)) compared to the two-b
ody LambdaN force. The analyses on (17)(Lambda) and Lambda -binding to nucl
ear matter based on our a-shell results demonstrate that the three-body Lam
bda NN correlations need to be incorporated suitably to describe these syst
ems appropriately.
