Abstract
In this paper, the third-order spectral problem is discussed, and a new equ ation hierarchy is obtained. A new finite-dimensional completely integrable system is presented by means of the Lax pairs and the adjoint Lax pairs of the equation hierarchy, and the solutions of the equation are derived by u sing the involutive solution for the integrable system.
