Yield and plant vigor of 'Niagara Rosada' grape vine related to the rootstock

The yield and plant vigor of 'Niagara Rosada' grafted on the 'IAC 313', 'IA C 766', 'Kober 5BB', 'Traviu' (106-8 Mgt) and 'Schwarzmann' rootstocks were evaluated from 1990 to 1998, in Taubate, SP, Brazil. The highest average y ields were obtained on the 'IAC 313' and 'IAC 766' rootstocks, reaching 2.6 9 kg/plant and 2.59 kg/plant, respectively. Yields on 'Kober 5BB' and 'Schw arzmann' were 110% smaller than on the previous ones, while 'Traviu' showed intermediary behavior. 'IAC 313' and 'IAC 766' also induced higher vigor i n the vine, represented by higher mass of pruned branches and higher diamet er of plant. 'Niagara Rosada' cultivation in the region is recommended on t he 'IAC 313', 'IAC 766' or 'Traviu' rootstocks.
