The breakup of B-10,B-12 into He clusters has been studied using the p,C-12
(Be-12, He-6, He-6) and C-12(Se-12, He-4, He-6) inelastic scattering and tw
o neutron transfer reactions with a 378 MeV Be-12 beam incident on C-12 and
(CH2)(n) targets. Evidence has been found for three new states in Be-10 at
excitation energies of 13.2, 14.8, and 16.1 MeV, which may be associated w
ith a He-4 + He-6 cluster structure. The evidence for He duster states in B
e-12 in the excitation energy range 12 to 25 MeV is also discussed.
