Using the Thomas-Fermi nuclear model we have constructed a standard dimensi
onless function (a simple hyperbola) which can be used to estimate the depe
ndence of the surface tension gamma on the relative neutron excess delta fo
r a variety of models, using only the models' properties calculated for sta
ndard (semi-infinite) nuclear matter with delta =0. We add some comments cl
arifying the relation between the Gibbs and the droplet model definitions,
gamma (mu) and gamma (e), of the surface tension.
